President's Message
Puget Sound Veterans' Services (PSVS), formerly known as Thurston County Veterans (TCVS), is a non-profit organization committed to supporting local Veterans and their families. Our programs range from assisting Veterans in the Veterans' Court Program, to helping homeless Veterans and preventing homelessness, as well as supporting the families of service members.
For the last seven years, we have been focused on helping underserved Veterans who due to program rules or restrictions cannot qualify for Veterans' assistance. For example, a homeless Veteran we helped had been unable to repay a debt to a previous landlord and that debt made him ineligible for the VA s U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-VA Supportive Housing (VASH-HUD). That Veteran now has a home.
We have assisted other Veterans who needed a helping hand due to COVID, job loss, or a missed monthly rent payment. Whether it is Veterans in Veterans' Court who need counseling that they cannot afford or a Veteran who doesn’t meet the eligibility criteria for Veterans' Assistance Funds, PSVS can step in and find creative ways to solve problems. We work cooperatively with other Veterans organizations and government agencies to both help individual Veterans in need and to expand the reach of existing Veterans' assistance.
Our donors and supporters make it possible for us to take on the toughest cases where needy Veterans have not been able to get the help they need. Please consider supporting us in any way that you can so that we can continue this important work for those who have served our country.
Thank you,
Bob Jones, President
